“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” —Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)
Waiting can be one of the hardest things we do. We make plans, set goals, and expect progress on our timeline. But God often works differently. His timing is not bound by our schedules, and His ways are higher than ours.
When things don’t unfold as quickly or smoothly as we hope, it’s tempting to question God’s plan. But delays are not denials. God sees the full picture—we only see a part. What may seem like a setback might actually be a setup for something greater.
Throughout Scripture, we see that God’s timing is always perfect. Abraham waited decades for a promised child. Joseph endured betrayal and prison before stepping into leadership. Jesus came “in the fullness of time,” not a moment too soon or too late.
Trusting God’s timing means surrendering control. It means believing He is good even when we can’t see the outcome. It’s in the waiting that our faith deepens, our patience grows, and our dependence on Him is strengthened.
Father, I confess that I struggle when things don’t go according to my timeline. Help me trust that Your timing is perfect, even when I don’t understand it. Give me peace in the waiting and faith to believe You’re working behind the scenes. Amen.
