“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” —1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV)
Gratitude is more than a feeling—it’s a choice. It’s easy to give thanks when life is going well, but Scripture challenges us to give thanks in all circumstances, even when it’s hard.
Gratitude shifts our focus. It moves our eyes off what’s lacking and onto God’s faithful provision. It strengthens our faith and fosters joy, even in trials. When we choose gratitude, we’re not ignoring pain—we’re choosing to see God’s hand at work in the midst of it.
Whatever season you’re in right now, there is something to be thankful for. Start with one thing today. As you practice gratitude, your perspective will change, and your heart will be lifted.
Father, thank You for Your constant presence and provision. Even in difficulty, help me to find reasons to give thanks. Grow in me a grateful heart that honors You in every season. Amen.
